Meet Our Staff!

All the staff at HofH have a strong and loving relationship with God and consider themselves part of the ministry of this vision to give the orphans of Kenya a loving home. ie it is a vocation and not just a job of work.

They each have an input into how the home can be run most efficiently and how the needs of each child are fully met.

ROSE: The Manager of the home is a strong and powerful woman of God who will move mountains if she can, in her endeavours to ensure that the children get all the help they need, not only from overseas sponsors but also from the people of Kenya. She also cares for the needs of the staff to ensure that it is not only an efficiently run home but also a very happy one.

PAULINE: The head Housemother has a happy and bubbly personality. This gives her a very good relationship with the children and enables her to encourage them in their school work. Since Pauline joined the home the children's school work has improved immensely.

SAMUEL: The Caretaker of the home is a gentle but strong man of God who knows his own mind and endeavours to ensure the smooth running of the home to a very high standard.

LYNETTE: Is the second Housemother and is also the wife of Samuel, the Caretaker. They have recently been joined by their first child, a baby girl. Lynette is quiet and reserved but has a mischievous sense of humour. She is such a safe haven for children who adore her cooking!

SUE: The founder of Mombasa House of Hope. If it wasn't for Sue, HofH wouldn't exist!

Meet Our Children!

We are so excited to now have seven children in our House of Hope! When we started in March 2007, we had budgeted for only 5 children, but how could we say no to a couple more?

More children, more joy: God is good!

So here are the Children of the House of Hope, in order of age.

Jackson is the oldest of our seven children and takes this responsibility very seriously: often acting as a parent to the other children (even when they object!). Jackson was the first child to come to the House of Hope and wants to be a pastor when he grows up.

David was born in 2001 in Kongowea Shauriyako, Mombasa. He came to us on the 18th March 2008. He loves school and is doing well academically. He is a happy child in spite of his past.

Arafat is a quiet boy who generally keeps to himself. He likes playing football and wants to be a professional footballer when he grows up. He speaks Swahili, Duruma and some English.

Ysuf is a lovely boy who enjoys school. His behaviour has significantly improved since arriving at the home and is now a well adjusted, cheerful young man.

Ivy is our youngest child. She is very strong willed and is more than able to keep the others in order. Her birthday is the 4th January 2005 and she came to join us in March 2008. She is as cute as a button!

Mombasa House of Hope

.

Mombasa House of Hope is a children's home in Mombasa, Kenya's second largest city, and is the result of a burden God placed on the heart of the home's founder, Susan Williams from Guernsey, C.I. It is a Christian charity formed to create a home for abandoned and neglected children.

The aim of the House of Hope is to rescue as many street children as we are able and to provide them with a family home where they will loved and given the care and attention every child deserves.

As of August 2008, we have seven children. There is no shortage of children who need a home in Mombasa and we will continue to accept children into our family as we are financially able.
